Born as the daughter of Romanian-German emigrants, Heike Schuch started her musical career at the age of seven at the music school in her hometown of Neuss. Shortly afterwards, the first competition successes followed and people became aware of the special talent. At the age of sixteen she was accepted as a junior student at the Cologne University of Music and the Maastricht Conservatory. She finally continued her education, which she completed with a “Master of Arts” (with distinction), at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in the classes of Enrico Bronzi and Clemens Hagen. Further important impulses she gained from working with personalities such as Heinrich Schiff, Natalia Gutmann, David Geringas, Janos Starker and Arto Noras.

Her early awards include numerous first prizes in the “Jugend musiziert” competition. She subsequently qualified to take part in some of the most important music competitions (e.g. Tchaikovsky Moscow) and won, among other things, 2nd prize at the international Johannes Brahms Competition in Gdansk and the special prize of the Brahms Society in Hamburg. She was awarded the Art Prize of the City of Neuss, the European Award of the European Foundation “ProEuropa” and – as part of the Salzburg Festival – the Prize of the Summer Academy and the City of Salzburg. She has been also a scholarship holder of the Foundation for Art and Culture of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Lions Club, the Dr. Jost-Henkel Foundation and the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss.

As a soloist and chamber musician, she regularly performs at festivals in Germany and abroad. A regular collaboration with internationally renowned chamber, symphony and opera orchestras, her teaching at master classes and as a representative of Martti Rousi at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, as well as regular excursions into other musical genres (especially contemporary music, but also ambitious crossover music projects) complete her image of the “all-round artist”. Among others she appeared on stage with greats from Roland Kaiser (famous German "Schlager" singer) to Kanye West and toured the world as the cellist and singer of the renowned quartet “Salut Salon” until the end of 2023.

Currently she is working on her new solo project “Charlie Cello”, in which she can be seen not only as a cellist, but also as a singer and multi-instrumentalist (including piano, guitar, bass, drums).
